FAQ

Where are you located? Birmingham, Alabama.

How far in advance should I book my session?

Approximately two to three months in advance. Booking your session early is always a good idea. Occasionally, spots will open up due to an unplanned cancellation-- it never hurts to ask!

Sessions are not reserved until Holland Williams Photography confirms the appointment AND receives your session fee.

When will my proofs be ready?

Your proofs will be ready for viewing within two weeks of our session. When they are ready, you will receive an e-mail containing a link to your password protected gallery Proofs will remain online for one week only. All orders must be placed during this time. Prints & Products can be ordered through the Holland Williams Photography website.

What to wear?

You are welcome to bring more than one outfit-- wardrobe changes are just fine! It's nice to mix it up.

Make sure your child is wearing something that they feel comfortable in. Try to incorporate layers and different textures into your wardrobe. Although I do like smocked clothing, it doesn't always photograph well. Stay away from busy patterns. I love bare baby feet more than anyone, but please bring a pair of shoes just in case. In winter months, please bring a cute sweater or coat, as well.

Can I buy digital files?

Yes. The entire session is available for purchase (digitally), as are a la carte digital files. Please contact me for details.

What if it rains?

Trust me, I am watching the weather just as much as you are! We will exchange phone numbers and make a decision the day of your shoot.

What if my child gets sick?

We will reschedule! I have kids. These things happen.

My child has scratched/cut/bruised her face! What do I do?

Do not worry. I can fix this in Photoshop.

How should I prepare my children?

Tell them you are going to play with a friend. It doesn't hurt to have some sort of reward in mind for after the session. Tell me beforehand if you are opposed to candy-- sometimes I bring a few treats of my own.

And PLEASE, please, please-- don't tell your children to say "cheese." It is best for the parents to take a step back and let me try and communicate directly with the child. Sometimes I am not looking for a smile. I promise, I will ask for your help if need be!
